Prompt fest

Because everyone's doing it, and I'm a shameless imitator, and also because I'm sick and tired of thinking about exciting topics such as whether it's better to use drop caps or small caps to introduce a passage . . .

I'm asking for prompts for stories in any of my series. As M. Chandler nicely summarized it: "Leave a comment on this entry with a prompt for a . . . short story that you'd like to see: a character or two, or maybe a basic situation, or an event from one of the books that I glossed over, whatever floats your boat. Please don't be too specific--I need room to thrash!"

I echo her last sentence: The more general the prompt, the more likely it is that my fickle Muse will take to it. "Show us the scene where Character X revealed his secret to Character Y" is likely to get my Muse's attention. He likes writing missing scenes. However, "Show Character Z in a porcelein bathtub, watching 'Gilmore Girls' while drinking Bacardi" will force him to point out that the author hasn't watched TV since 2001 and hasn't drunk alcohol since the 1990s, so that particular scene would take a little too much research.

Also, my Muse reserves the right to like a story idea so much that he wants to spend a lot of time on it, in which case it won't get posted for months.

Since I have three versions of this blog, I'll post my responses in a separate post, so that everyone can see them.

I'd like to see an Eternal Dungeon story from the point of view of or about a truly innocent prisoner. Any seeker(s). Any outcome. Extra points for lots of angst and any hurt/comfort :-)

I second this.

I'd also, and here's a shocker for you, like to see more of Layle's dreamings. Or something which elaborates on Layle's relationship with Master Aeden. (Seriously, I just like seeing Layle be scary.)

With Bacardi. And Gilmore Girls.

If it could be 20 000 gold stars,

I would like to see the first meeting of Delius and Paul

I'm backing telepwen with Layle's dreamings. But I rather like to see a comfort or reassurance scene between Elsdon and Layle. Either as comforters would be interesting.
I really enjoy reading your lj and your fiction always succeeds in bringing me to tears. Thanks.
